Dear Mum

Life in thee Big City is very…interesting. I know that if I do not tell you everthing you will be able to tell and then you will come and git me so I would like you to know that I am not keeping secrets. I have joined thee City Watch because it is a good carier for a young woman of little means and since thee money I brot with me was stolen I have very few means indeed. I do not want you to think that I did something silly and was asking to be stolen from! I was very careful and did not go with any strangers but when I asked a man for directions he led me into an alley and before I could defend myself someone else bopped me on thee head. I know you would have handled it better being a Witch and all but I did thee best that I could. After I woke up from thee head bopping I went to thee Watch because surely they are supposed to take care of these things? They are not actually. It is a little strange. Apparently there are Guilds for Thieves and Assassins! I know I was quite shocked. Anyway when I went to thee Watch’s headquarters a very nice man sat me down and talked me through thee whole thing and explained to me about it all and then said why don’t I join thee Watch? Because as I said before it is a good carear. Anyway since I had no place to stay and no money and no clothes (my clothes were in my bag) I thought that it could not hurt. They were vary nice and I thought it must be nice because so many people are doing it and they give you clothes and food and your own room with nobody else in it. Anyway, how hard can it be to walk around and yell All is Well? I am sure I will get thee hang of it and will write soon. Give my love to Dad and everyone.
